I am so very excited about the second picture book, Grandpa's Talespun Love! This is a partner text to Grandma's Handgrown Love, but it is an entirely different reading experience. Several elements are the same - repetitive phrases to provide predictability and cohesion, delightful illustrations to enhance the message of the words, playful language, and a few "extras" at the end of the storyline - but unlike the brevity of the rhythmical phrases in Grandma's Handgrown Love, the tales Grandpa spins throughout the text require the reader to enter into a storytelling mode. This text follows a young grandchild through a lifetime with his grandpa (akin to the first book), but this partner text is in actuality, a story within a story and has an additional parallel plot....what a fun, fun text to write! Psst...here is a peek at the front and back covers of Grandpa's Talespun Love. While there is noticeable similarity to Grandma's Handgrown Love, the differences are immediately apparent once the reader opens the book!
I am a reader, a writer, and a dreamer. It is my joy to write quality literature for the most discerning of all readers...educators, children, and the child in all of us.
